Autograft is obtained from the iliac tubercle in half the time than open techniques through an incision of 1 to 2 cm. It is rich in nutrients and initiates bone healing through osteoblastic infiltration, cell recruitment, and proliferation. Risk factors are reduced and minimized and healing is naturally accelerated.
