Product Overview
The PRESERVE Lapidus Angular Length Restoring Graft is a patented, tapered wedge designed for use in a Lapidus Arthrodesis. The Paragon 28® PRESERVE Grafts are anatomically contoured, aseptically processed and density matched allografts. The anatomic contour of the Lapidus graft features biplanar correction to plantarflex and abduct the 1st metatarsal. The shape of the Lapidus graft is anatomically contoured to the 1st tarsometatarsal joint. The primary donor sites for the PRESERVE Lapidus Angular Length Restoring Graft is the distal femur, an area of abundant medullary bone.
All Paragon 28 PRESERVE Grafts are aseptically processed, allowing for maintenance of structural integrity and biocompatibility of the graft. Gamma irradiation is not used during processing in order to help avoid structural fatigue and crumbling of the graft. Further, hydrogen peroxide is avoided during processing with the intent to help preserve osteoinductivity of the graft.
A set of trials are available for use with the PRESERVE Lapidus Angular Length Restoring Grafts. The trials are sized matched to the grafts to determine the correct amount of correction both clinically and radiographically before a graft is even opened.
Paragon 28®'s Design Rationale:
We understand the concern of shortening from a Lapidus Arthrodesis. Our answer is the PRESERVE Lapidus Angular Length Restoring Graft. This graft can help restore length for a patient with a short 1st metatarsal, in a case with over-shortening, or for revision procedures. The Gorilla® Lapidus Arthrodesis Graft Spanning plate is available in small, medium and large size options in right and left for plate and screw fixation across the PRESERVE Lapidus Angular Length Restoring Graft.
